Looking for a one-bedroom rental near some of San Antonio’s destination spots.

Guess the Rent is back! Home prices have surged drastically this year, making it difficult for those looking to but their first home. So people are still renting. But San Antonio rents aren’t necessarily dropping. From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. Taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco, MySA is looking at local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Let’s guess the rent.

Today we’re taking a trip to the Alta Vista neighborhood for a “spacious” one-bedroom rental posted to Craigslist. Coming in at 850 square feet, maybe spacious is overselling it, but it could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Maybe.

Speaking of cozy, you could read a book or two in this living room.

Let’s start with the living room. There seems to be plenty of space here, and the large windows will let in tons of natural light for a cozy shill spot.

And it can fit a bookshelf or two.

Here's the bedroom. It looks live-in or maybe its just comfy.

It’s only one bedroom, but the space is large and filled with natural light. It also has wood flooring just like most of the rooms in the apartment.

The classic tub is a nice touch for this cute bathroom.

Would doesn’t love a vintage clawfoot tub in the bathrooms? Here, it adds to the overall aesthetic of the home and feels at home in theAlta Vista neighborhood.

That vintage sink is great, but there's something off about this kitchen.

And now we’re in the kitchen. It also has a very classic look, especially with the sink and glass cabinets. But carpet in the kitchen is an odd choice. Things get spilled, messes get made, and I imagine this is something you’ll have to clean pretty consistently.

This rental is a five-minute drive to the St. Mary’s Strip and an eight-minute drive to the Pearl. It’s a prime spot in a historical neighborhood. So the rent comes in at… $825 a month. The landlord also requests a security deposit of $825. No pets or smoking are allowed.

Average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Alta Vista is $995 a month according to Zumper. Were you close?
